Never a dull moment!

So last night I went with my friends to the tumble gym in Springville for their ward activity. The tumble gym there is so fun, I went there all the time last year but had yet to go there this year. It's just a place with foam pits, trampolines, sumo wrestling suits aka a recipe for disaster. Now usually I'm the one that gets hurt, but I went with my friend who is even more accident prone than me. I jumped on the trampoline one time and then I saw everyone crowding around her while she was in the foam pit and couldn't get out. It turned out that she was jumping on the trampoline, jumped to high and went to far out so she hit her foot on the side of the foam pit. When she fell in the first counselor's daughter was right there and jumped out of the way right before megan went down, it was quit a show. But we get her out of the pit and then gave her some ice because I figured it couldn't be that bad...wrong. Here's the result of her hitting her foot: If you just look you think that's just her ankle, but the first bump is the swollen part and the second is her ankle...it was crazy! We didn't feel like we could do anything about it that late on a Friday night so we just went home watched Mulan and ate Chinese food....my best idea yet! But she's at the doctor today and they said it's either a torn ligament or a fracture, i haven't heard the final word yet. Hopefully it's nothing to bad because she was hoping to run a marathon in april! But that's probably a first where I didn't get hurt somehow, I was pretty proud of myself. And yes, it could've been because we were only at the place for 5 minutes...but it still counts!!

My cooking days might just be over...

What an eventful weekend I had! First I almost die while snowboarding and then I almost burned down my apartment...
On Sunday it was my turn to cook dinner, which was simple. But I decided to be nice and make a dessert since I had been in such a bad mood the whole week before. So I decided to make the delicious but easy to make orange rolls that my mom always used to make on Christmas morning(or I think she did!). So I made them and put them in the oven and took them out but they just weren't the same. They had NO flavor!! So later I looked in the oven and found all the flavor...it all dripped to the bottom of the oven. So I found out that the bundt pan I have doesn't hold liquids because it opens at the bottom, it's just really weird. Maybe I'll splurge and buy a new pan...but probably not. So then I decided to be even nicer and clean up my mess. Earlier I had talked to Meredith on the phone and she was telling me how Lauren always used to do the self-clean on the oven. What a great idea-I won't even have to do anything!! WRONG. Here's a tip....before you turn the self-clean on for your oven try to clean it as much as possible...or you will have the experience that I had. We were about to watch a movie when I looked in the kitchen and saw TONS of smoke. So I immediately grabbed a towel and opened the door while my roommate took the batteries out of the smoke detector. Who knew there would be so much smoke! We inhaled a lot of smoke...but my roommates always find a way to make everything fun: So after 30 minutes of being firefighters we got the smoke to a reasonable amount but had to leave the windows open all night so it wouldn't take over the apartment!! So this last picture is me, "the culprit" cleaning up the mess in the oven after trying to self clean...I will now always clean the oven by myself, I should've known to never trust something that says it will self-clean!!

Oh the Insanity

Me before Snowboarding:
So today Mere and I woke up early to go snowboarding up in Brighton. I haven't been snowboarding for a year, but I didn't think it would be that bad. So of course starting out I was excited and extremely motivated....then came my first run down the mountain. It took us forever!!! I had finally got it but Mere's board was bad because she had just bought it and was testing it out. So there's the first run. By the second run I decided that once again I would try to learn how to carve, and I was starting to get it. Then we went higher and I felt extremely confident. So i'm going down slowly learning to carve, going over some little jumps and had some crazy wipeouts. I'm pretty sure I did a triple flip at one point...all I know is my eye started twitching after a few of those falls on my head. So after a couple more face plants and flips I decided I was done. We didn't stay as long as I was planning on, but that's ok...I don't think my head could've taken anymore wipeouts!! But in a few weeks I'm hopefully going snowboarding with my friend so hopefully I'll heal from my injuries that I got today. So today was good overall, but by the end of the day I was wiped out...as you can see by my picture.

I succumbed...

So I gave in. After months of people bugging me to start blogging, I decided I might as well do it. I tried to do something creative with the name and stuff, but I'm just not that creative! My friend Amy has been bugging me to get a blog so we sat together to figure out what I could blog about. We'll see how good it goes. Enjoy reading my blog that will hopefully be updated again! :)
