fabric.

I bought this zebra fabric for my original Halloween costume, you know the one I didn't use. Any ideas for what to make with 2 yards of zebra fabric??

caramel apples.

i love fall. Why is it that I feel like I have never experienced fall until now? Maybe I was just oblivious, I wouldn't put it past me. But I just love the fall activities! jumping into piles of leaves. cute fall jackets. wearing my cowboy boots. caramel apples. Yep, we made caramel apples.
& they were delicious.
taking the wrappers off the caramel.
Leilani, she still had the flu. she was good about not getting close!
Don't they look delicious?! they were.
It was fun having a girls only night with the roommates. I feel like there are always extra people in our apartment! And for your information, no one else has gotten sick here! yay!!

Halloween.

Guess what?!
I dressed up for Halloween this year! The last time I dressed up was probably when I was Glinda and Alli was Dorothy. A long time ago! Halloween just has never been my favorite, but this year I decided to dress up. I had this awesome idea of being a cave woman, I even bought the fabric! But the day of I decided that a piece of fabric draped over leggings and a long sleeve shirt would not be warm enough outside in Utah at night. After a lot of brainstorming about 3.5 hours before the party 2 of my roommates and I decided to be hunters, gorilla hunters to be exact. Let me tell you the story. We have gorillas in The Colony, they come out about every two weeks or so. Sometimes they like to come to my apartment and barge in and start jumping on the couches. They're faces are scary. So I had the great idea to hunt them. Now our costumes weren't really great for gorilla costumes, but they were pretty good for deer hunters. :) And don't worry, I had a camo shirt in my closet so it didn't take me long to find my costume. Meg's mom was also able to hook us up with some sweet weapons...like a real bow and arrow! I was careful with it. But I can now say I can shoot a bow and arrow. Be glad you weren't there for the training process, I was scared myself! (side note: don't aim the arrow at concrete...it sparks & everyone freaks out.) And you have my permission to laugh at the pictures. I was in a hurry and forgot to paint the other side of my binoculars. So it may look a little weird. But all in all it was a fun night!! ready to find the gorillas! we found one!! (there are 3) roommates-heather. my roommate wonder-woman. awesome costume. and yes, i did sneak into this picture. :) And in case you're wondering, I haven't seen the gorillas since that event!!

Don't come visit...

apt. 396.
Seriously, it's not a pretty sight over here. Let me tell you the story: So a few weeks ago, actually the Sunday after Lauren's wedding, I got this huge zit on my chin. It was big, red and it hurt. I said stuff to my roommates but they just said it was a zit and it's normal (I don't usually get big zits, just little ones here and there). SIDENOTE: sorry for all the details, i hope you don't mind. At least I'm not posting a picture! So by Wednesday I got so sick of this thing on my chin and tried to pop it...just got into a bigger mess so I just ignored it and it left for a few days. Yesterday I got a surprise. It came back X2. Bigger, redder, more sore and there were 2. Awesome. So after calling doctors all morning to get in today I finally got an appointment with my auntie Cal's doc. He was great. Walked in, told me it was staph and gave me a prescription. The good thing about this?? I finally got meds and proved my roommates wrong. woop! The bad thing? The fact that I can't touch my face at all. It's hard, especially when you can't do it. So I now get to walk around with a big red chain for the next 4 or 5 days. awesome. On top of that awesomeness is the fact that one of my roommates has the swine flu. She hasn't actuall gone to the doc yet, but she has been in bed since Sunday and has flu-like symptoms. So I diagnosed her with swine flu(I've done a lot of researching lately). My other roommate is also starting to feel sick. Let's hope I don't get it or maybe I want to get it sooner than later. I tried to get a flu vaccination today, but everyone I called didn't have it, surprise surprise. I also called my doc to see if I could get Tamiflu but he said no because there's such a shortage. Another awesome fact. So let's hope that this month full of sickness (I was sick the first week of Oct for 3 days) will be over soon. As much as I love you all....don't come visit, unless you want to get sick or your name is mom and you're coming to make me feel better in an instant.
