Summer

SUMMER noun-the period of finest development, perfection, or beauty previous to any decline: the summer of life. So today something that I thought was pretty interesting happened. I was talking to one of my friends and told them what I was doing for the summer. This is basically what I said: "I'm going home ALL summer and I'm so excited. My plan is to not get a job and just hang out!" (Don't worry parents-I'll get some sort of a job) BUT-this was the response. How can you stay at home for four months without going insane. And these are the pictures that flashed through my head while I was thinking of a response:
Road Trips!!
Frontier City!
Finding things to do that get me in trouble... even though I'm 20!!
This dog & boy & boat!!
4th of July & bre & sunburns
tubing!!
drawing with chalk!!
the slide & the pool
the boat & Jimmy John's && SAMPSON!!
& of course-daddy getting 1 year older!! So to answer that question: I can never be bored at home. There is always something to do there! So if you're ever bored and want to do something fun, come to Oklahoma and we'll show you a good time!!

poor phones...

If you like your phone...don't trust it with me. Let's just say the Nuttall family doesn't have good history with phones, well-at least some of us! I'll admit that Taylor and Meredith are pretty good with their phones. Here's the life of Nuttall phone's that I can remember:
Dad: 1 phone went into the "bunny hole" (courtesy of Alli) another phone went on a little swim with him. Mom: 1 phone fell into a cup of diet coke, at least it got that & another got smashed in the car door. Lauren: 1 phone thrown into her computer, etc. Trust me-Lauren probably goes through the most phones now, but I don't really know what she does to them!! Me: 1 phone tragically fell into the toilet, 1 got lost, 1 was left on the boat hitch & fell off, and got smashed, 1 went swimming, 1 got crushed by about 9 cars, etc. I know this is sad...but I honestly don't know how many phones I've gone through. But no worries- I always have a trusty back up phone: Oh yah...be jealous!! But here's the most recent story: I was out last Saturday with my lovely grandpa. As I was putting his cadillac in my car I left my phone on top of my car(Horrible idea). About a mile later I realized I didn't have my phone. It was NOWHERE. So we were driving and then I see it in the middle of a crosswalk..where cars kept driving over it. It was sad. But I parked in a parking lot and grabbed it so I could at least get the sim card. So now I have two wonderful phones, one water damaged and one smashed, surely I can get at least one good phone out of that right!?

Messes

So usually I'm an extremely clean person, it's almost annoying sometimes. But a couple weeks ago I wasn't home at all! I would come in grab something, drop something off etc. So this is what it looked like(this is HORRIBLE for me!): But after this picture, it continually got worse. So one Saturday night I came home extremely late and knew I needed to clean, but I was just too exhausted. So I got in my bed and went right to sleep! Little did I know I left one too many drawers open on my dresser. At about 7:30 Sunday morning I stretched just a little, and all of a sudden I hear way too many noises coming from the end of my bed. And here is the end result: Yah...it was pretty bad. But don't worry, my room is now spotless as usual!!

Frustration

I know all my posts have been venting lately, but school does that to me sometimes! This week I've been trying to get ahead for when my mom comes in next week. :) I was able to get my Tuesday and Thursday afternoons off at work which is a huge relief. I love feeling like a normal college student and staying on campus all day. Today was a really unusual day, here's the story.
I woke up at 6:40 get to class on time at 8am. Going good so far! Then I start heading to my next class which doesn't start until 9:30 but I had a pounding headache. I then proceeded to walk home to get some tylenol. Next thing I know I wake up at 12:30 with my contacts out and basically just a huge mess. So I was able to make it to my last class-go me. Went to lunch with Mere at got back home at like 4:30. Then I start studying anatomy(story of my life) sitting on my couch. Then my roommate walks in at 6:30 and I woke up. Needless to say it was a weird day.
Then I go to open lab for a couple hours and start feeling really confident with the muscles! I have 2 more days before my midterm. So I decided around 9:30 I should take a break from anatomy lab so I moved onto anatomy lecture. I took my online quiz and got a 3 out of 5, what's really frustrating is I thought I only had 15 minutes, but it turns out I had 20. Great...THEN I go to do my lab midterm evaluation for 2 extra credit points. But of course, it was due last night at midnight, it's okay I guess I didn't need the extra credit points. False. Of all classes to miss extra credit points in anatomy is not the one to do it!
But I guess that's life, I just need to pay attention more! But for now I'm trying to get through this week. Then my lab midterm will be over and my mom will be here!! That's always how it goes, really bad week and then a really good week. Now I just need to catch up on all my homework that I haven't done because of anatomy. Oh the insanity.

Mattress Surfing

So I don't know if many people know this, but my family along with the Christie family has a bad obsession with mattress surfing(and the lake, & diet coke)!!
It all started when my mom was out of town, which is basically when all the fun happens. Just kidding!! I love my mom. When I was in high school my dad would always let me have people over and just have some fun parties. But only when my mom was gone could we play hide and seek in the dark....in the house. Let me tell you, that was an adventure. But the only casualty I can think of from playing that is a broken cup. I think that's worth the price for all the fun we had!! But-one Saturday when my mom was gone my dad, Alli and I were cleaning Alli's room. She always has her bed out so both mattresses were on but we decided to move one upstairs. So after we carried it up the stairs it might've slipped and we might have just gone down the stairs on it. What a great accident!! Now every Nuttall/Christie gathering we go mattress surfing. However, there was one problem this year. We took the mattresses up to Utah with Mere because she took the trundle bed. So the last day of Christmas vacation Kenny was gone all day searching around Oklahoma City for a cheap, twin mattress for mattress surfing. Mission accomplished. And boy was it cheap!! But it was fun while it lasted!! So the reason why I thought of this story was because of my conversation with Alli tonight. She was telling me how all her friends came over for a project(She's only in the 3rd grade)!!! She mentioned that the hot tub wasn't working and she couldn't mattress surf, so it wasn't that fun. But then she told me why she couldn't go mattress surfing... When she went sometime last week the spring popped out of that wonderful, cheap mattress and made a beautiful scratch all the way down the stairs. Oh well-we have to leave a mark in that house somehow!! We have the scratch on the stairs in this house and the broken door in the last house...and many more. Hopefully we'll find another new mattress before the next Nuttall/Christie Chrew gathering!!!

My dogs!!!

So I love my dogs....I may have a bad obsession about them. I tried to upload a few of my million pictures of my puppies, but it wouldn't work. So here goes. I love my dogs, but I can't stand other peoples dogs...they just drive me crazy. They smell, they slobber and they just aren't for me. Even if it's a black lab like my black lab Gairnee, I just can't sit there and pet them all day. Weird, I know. Here are a couple examples: #1 Last week at work this lady brought in a bunch of her puppies, they were those really little expensive dogs. Just not my type, I was holding one and it just smelled and I couldn't stand it. But I had to sit there and hold the smelly thing because it would've been rude. But then another puppy peed on the other girl I worked with so I was able to give the dog back without looking to rude. #2 My auntie Cal has the best dogs, Maggie and Zoe. I love those dogs, but I just can't sit there and pet them like I can with Sam and Gairnee(Sorry Cal!). Maybe it's because I knew my dogs when they were cute little puppies. I remember when we got Gairnee in Scotland and she was just the cutest black lab. I know to eveyone else she's extremely annoying because of her barking...it gets pretty loud. But I always liked it because when it was just me and her alone, it gave me a warning when my parents came home so I could act like I was asleep. Haha-just kidding. Then there's Sampson, the huge yellow lab my brother and I convinced my mom to get this summer. He is hilarious!!! That dog is huge but to me he'll always be a lap dog, I have a perfect picture to prove that...but they aren't loading. So sorry!!! And even better, today's Sam's birthday, well according to Alli! Today Sampson Valentine Nuttall is one, perfect name don't you think?! There's my post about how obsessive I am with my dogs. Sorry if I don't like your dogs...it's just this weird thing for me...add it to the list!!

Vent time...

Warning: This is basically a vent post-sorry. This week=stress week.' I have been so overwhelmed this week because it's the first round of midterms...and I haven't even taken one test!! I took Tuesday off at work so I could study all day, it was so nice. I felt so prepared and on top of it. Wednesday night I decided to go take a break and see a movie(I saw Taken-really good movie!). That was fine except for when I got home I was overwhelmed, studied really late and ended up missing my first class. I hate missing class. I feel like if I miss class than I don't deserve a good grade at all. && I want good grades!! Today was very overwhelming. I had a great schedule to take a test today but then I realized how unprepared I am for this test. I could be prepared but on top of preparing for my 3 tests I have to study all the muscles for my anatomy lab tomorrow afternoon. So much to do!! So I figured I'll still be fine, study anatomy, go to lab, and then go take my comD test. But I have a problem-I tell people I'll do something with them and then I end up telling multiple people i'll hang out/study/go to the gym/etc with them. Then I have to cancel and feel like such a flake. Apparently I told a few people I would go to a party with them this weekend...who was I kidding?! So once again I get to be a flake and cancel my social life for school-welcome to college. Then there's roommates. I never knew it would be so hard!! One minute everything's fine and then everything's tense, which is probably just me this week since I'm so stressed. I love my roommates to death, they are the funniest girls. But sometimes I just have to go somewhere else with some other friends. And one more-between all this craziness I completely forgot about my church calling. I was supposed to schedule a bunch of interviews for this week w/ my rs president...and I've done zero, yes zero. She called me tonight and then I realized...so horrible. Then I have to visit several apartments this week to get to know the girls...this weeks almost over! So hopefully after tomorrow I'll get my life a little more in order...but for now I'm going crazy.
