blog overload.

I've become obsessed with finding cute blogs. And reading them. A lot of them. I've also become obsessed with all the free giveaways. Maybe someday I'll win something, like this:

i want one.

look what i found...
talk about a tree house. feel free to make me one anytime.

Don't come visit...

apt. 396.
Seriously, it's not a pretty sight over here. Let me tell you the story: So a few weeks ago, actually the Sunday after Lauren's wedding, I got this huge zit on my chin. It was big, red and it hurt. I said stuff to my roommates but they just said it was a zit and it's normal (I don't usually get big zits, just little ones here and there). SIDENOTE: sorry for all the details, i hope you don't mind. At least I'm not posting a picture! So by Wednesday I got so sick of this thing on my chin and tried to pop it...just got into a bigger mess so I just ignored it and it left for a few days. Yesterday I got a surprise. It came back X2. Bigger, redder, more sore and there were 2. Awesome. So after calling doctors all morning to get in today I finally got an appointment with my auntie Cal's doc. He was great. Walked in, told me it was staph and gave me a prescription. The good thing about this?? I finally got meds and proved my roommates wrong. woop! The bad thing? The fact that I can't touch my face at all. It's hard, especially when you can't do it. So I now get to walk around with a big red chain for the next 4 or 5 days. awesome. On top of that awesomeness is the fact that one of my roommates has the swine flu. She hasn't actuall gone to the doc yet, but she has been in bed since Sunday and has flu-like symptoms. So I diagnosed her with swine flu(I've done a lot of researching lately). My other roommate is also starting to feel sick. Let's hope I don't get it or maybe I want to get it sooner than later. I tried to get a flu vaccination today, but everyone I called didn't have it, surprise surprise. I also called my doc to see if I could get Tamiflu but he said no because there's such a shortage. Another awesome fact. So let's hope that this month full of sickness (I was sick the first week of Oct for 3 days) will be over soon. As much as I love you all....don't come visit, unless you want to get sick or your name is mom and you're coming to make me feel better in an instant.

Midterms??

This is my life right now: Yep-that's the BYU testing center. Don't you miss it? Seriously, why is it that all of your teachers plan everything in the same week, seriously every class has a quiz, test or paper this week. Awesome. But in my typical procrastination and day dreaming this is what has constantly been going through my mind: Is anything better than Christmas? I think not. Last night my roommate, Jackie, and I got in bed at 11pm but ended up staying up until 1:30am just talking about Christmas. It's so funny to me how everyone's traditions are so different. But this conversation got me really excited for December 16, 2009 when I land in Oklahoma, drive home and then drive into my driveway and see Christmas lights all over. But my favorite part is when I first walk into the house and the dogs attack me and the Christmas tree is decorated and Christmas is finally here! I should probably focus on midterms, but it's hard to do when I'm getting so excited about Christmas. Maybe I can think about how half of my family won't be coming home for Christmas. Sad day. But back to midterms! I hope all of you start getting excited for Christmas, I am!

Let me introduce you...

To my new roommates this year! There's six of us, I thought it was going to be hard, but it's actually not that bad. We're all home at different times between school, work and everything else that comes with the college life. But I love my roommates! So here's a picture with everyone, starting from the top of the stairs: Leilani, Heather, me, Monica, Megan and Jackie.
Leilani is our "random" roommate this year and we're really glad it's her and not some crazy person! She's from California and is a sophomore this year and works at the creamery ALL the time, at least it seems like it! Heather was Megan and Monica's roommate freshman year in heritage halls. She's so sweet and quiet, so it kinda balances us all out! She's from Boise, Idaho and is majoring in english. Then me, I don't really feel like talking about me right now...shocker! Monica is from Canada and she is great. She's become my temple buddy, so that's pretty fun! She's a journalism major, or something to that extent, all I know is I make sure to read her articles every week in the Daily Universe! Then there's Megan, she lived on my hall first semester of freshman year, but then moved to Heritage with Heather and Monica second semester. Megan is my "clumsy" friend, she had surgery on her stomach last year and then broke her foot the following semester. It was sad. Then there's my room roommate Jackie! We met freshman year and decided to change our majors last year to ComD, so we have all of our classes together which is awesome. We are also gym buddies...well at least try to be!
Me & Jackie
Most of my roommates at a ward activity..we were supposed to be flappers, great idea for a ward activity, huh?
And this is what the car ride to church every Sunday generally looks like...we don't like taking two cars!
So I hope you like this little introduction AND blog update!!

India Fest

What have I been up to lately? Well besides school and more school not too much! But a few weeks ago( I know, huge blog neglect) I went to India Fest! Below are some friends from freshman year + a roommate of a friend. Thalassa, me, courtney, ....(i'm really bad with names, especially because i've heard a million names in the past month, sorry), and stacey! It was held at the Indian temple in Springville where they also have the Festival of Colors. For some reason I have yet to grace the festival of colors with my presence. I think it's because I was scared when I was little at an actual real festival of colors in India. All I remember from that tragic day is my sister, Lauren, and I in the corner crying because we got paint in our eyes. Sad day. At the temple with my friends Stacey and Thalassa from freshman year! Isn't the background so pretty?!We never see each other anymore since we live 8 blocks away from each other...that's a lot in Provo! haha. Below is an elephant...Too bad it's not real, oh well. When I go to India I'll take a picture with a real elephant, whenever that is.
But-back to India Fest. I'll just be frank, it was weird but fun! I went into the temple and watched as a million BYU students joined in the middle of the floor dancing around in a circle, I may or may not have joined in. But, of course before joining in, I was sure to take a picture of my friends in the circle! Then after the crazy dancing in the temple we went outside and listened to the story about India people. Unfortunately I don't remember anything else about the story to share with you...sorry, i know you feel like you're missing out. But they burned this big effigy of this guy and it was pretty fune. The fire was huge and it was crazy loud, below are the pictures. And after that...there was more dancing outside! It was pretty fun. Especially the singing, they sang the same song every time just to different tunes, pretty funny! And then we got to see llamas! There were so many llamas, so funny! So there's one activity out of many for me, yay! Hopefully more blogging to come, for now enjoy!!

almost there.

So...as some of you may know, I have a lot of stuff. BUT I'm almost unpacked!!! It's funny because I forget how much stuff I have until I pack and unpack it. So today I got a wonderful gift from my good friend Megan, which made me realize that I maybe I should consider downsizing. But the most awesome present I got was on a business card: "For the person who has everything, a belly button lint cleaner." How great is that?! But I am back in Provo and I am excited to get everything back in order and start school again, yay! And I am also glad to be reunited with my dear friend Breanna, she's great. And if you don't know Breanna, you should, and you should read her blog. It's great and you will love it. But more blogging to come later...sorry for the boring post with no pictures, but at least it's something!
